Common questions about building, sharing, and using programs on itrain.ing
itrain.ing is a free training program builder you use in your browser. Plan your weeks, log your work, then share the whole plan as one open link — so lifters and coaches can spread real programming, not gatekeep it. No spreadsheet and no sign-up to start.
Yes. itrain.ing lets you build, edit, and share programs for free. Accounts to save programs in your library are free. Paid extras like private programs or premium short links may come later.
No — open itrain.ing, start typing, and share when you are ready. Create a free account when you want to save multiple programs to your library.
Open itrain.ing. You get a starter week. Name your training block, add days with Add Day, then fill in exercises, sets, reps, weight, % of max, and RPE. itrain.ing saves your work in the link as you type.
Yes. itrain.ing is built for phones first. Turn your phone sideways if you want to see more columns at once.
Yes. Browse free templates — 3-day splits, upper-body focus, peaking blocks, and more. Each opens in the same editor so you can edit and share your version.
Tap the share button at the top of itrain.ing. Your link is copied. Paste the link in a text, email, or DM like any other URL. More detail in how sharing works.
Yes — and that is the point. itrain.ing puts your full program in one link so anyone you share it with can open it instantly: an athlete, a training partner, a forum, or a lifter learning from your block. No login wall, no “request access.” itrain.ing is built to open up training knowledge. When paid plans launch, itrain.ing will offer private programs for coaches who want them; open one-link sharing stays the default for free use.
Yes. itrain.ing updates the link as you type, so the link always matches what is on screen. Tap share again if you want to send a fresh copy after big changes.
itrain.ing stores your whole program inside the link. Bigger programs make longer links. Some chat apps cut off long links — try email, Notes, or a shorter program. Custom short links (e.g. itrain.ing/my-block) are rolling out for saved programs.
Anonymous programs live only in the link — we cannot recover a lost URL. If you saved the program to your account library, sign in and open it from your dashboard.
Yes. Older /p/… and #/p/… links still open in itrain.ing. New shares use /app/….
Use the week controls in itrain.ing to add weeks. On each week, tap Add Day (up to seven days). Delete a day with the trash icon on that day.
On itrain.ing, a mesocycle is a training block — like a hypertrophy phase, strength block, or peaking block. Pick or rename the block from the mesocycle menu. Weeks belong to the block you have selected.
In itrain.ing, tap Config (the sliders icon). Enter your one-rep maxes for the lifts you program most (squat, bench, deadlift, or anything else), plus any custom lifts. itrain.ing can walk you through maxes the first time you open the app.
After you set a max in itrain.ing, typing a % of max fills in weight, and typing weight fills in the percent. RPE stays separate — you enter that yourself. See percentages and RPE for examples.
Yes. Switch units in the week bar in itrain.ing. Your weights and maxes convert so the block stays consistent. Your itrain.ing share link keeps the units you picked.
Yes. Type any exercise name in itrain.ing. Common names (pause bench, front squat, RDL, etc.) map to the right max when you set them in Config. Add other lifts in Config if they need their own one-rep max.
Sign in, open the builder, then tap Save to library (bookmark icon in the header). Name your program and pick a short path. Your saved programs appear on your dashboard.
Yes. One-link sharing still works with no login. Accounts are optional — they help when you want a library of blocks instead of juggling URLs.
Yes — planned for paid plans. Coaches and lifters who want password-protected or non-public blocks will get that option. Free itrain.ing will keep celebrating open links so programming knowledge stays easy to pass along.
Yes. Build the block in itrain.ing, share the link, and your athlete opens the link on phone or laptop. They see the same grid you built.
Anyone with the link can edit in itrain.ing in the browser. There is no view-only mode yet. Send a new link after review if you want a clean copy.
For many coaches, itrain.ing is easier on mobile: one link, no formulas, and columns for sets, reps, %, RPE, and rest. Spreadsheets are still great if you need heavy custom math.
While you edit without an account, itrain.ing keeps your program in the share link and your browser. When you save to library, a copy is stored securely on our servers linked to your account.
itrain.ing does not auto-list individual shared program URLs in Google search — that keeps search focused on guides and templates, not random personal links. You can still post your link anywhere you want (social, forums, email, team chats) so people get the full program in one tap.
No. itrain.ing is a planning tool only. Talk to a coach or doctor about pain, injury, or what you should lift.
